This Craftsman Style home is the consolidation of two separate additions at Number 9 Forrest Street.
The second addition had the greatest impact by with a dramatic change to the front elevation and consisted of 940 square feet over the original structure, and a 215 square foot front porch. The second floor is comprised of two bedrooms, bath, computer loft, and den.
The addition was a much about creating the façade as it was about added space. The elevated front porch sets on its original foundation and is accentuated by tapered columns support by a base. The low slope hip roof over the porch wraps around on the side of the structure to break up the strong vertical elements which are visible from the western approach at street level. The second floor projection over the porch cradles window seats for the two bedrooms and is pronounced by brackets at either corner.
